Flipgrid

Signup using google (granitesd.org email) or create your own sign up with your graniteschools.org email 
  • Go to Canvas and integrate your course into canvas using the integrations option after clicking on the smiley face in the upper right corner  (get a customer key and shared secret for each course) 
  • Create a Flipgrid assignment using the external tool --click on flipgrid.  This will create a new topic.  
  • Edit the topic
  • Students will then post their videos for you to view in both canvas and flipgrid
USES: 
1. Book reviews or other types of quick reviews
2. Create a discussion requiring replies using a video or written replies. 
3. Create a mixtape --this is where you can put a collection of videos for students to view or to create a portfolio
4. Discovery allows you to find already created topics or discussions

  • Create a video--find premade videos with questions or create one of your own. ​
  • Integrate your account with your canvas
  • Click on settings>Apps>Search for Edpuzzle> Click add app
  • On Edpuzzle, click on your profile icon (circle with your picture or a silhouette) and click on your name> school> scroll to the bottom and click on LMS LTI integration and select Canvas.  
  • In canvas paste the consumer key and the shared secret
  • In canvas create an assignment, select Edpuzzle as the external tool, then select the video you would like to assign and assign the video
USES: 
1. Use video with questions to guide learning
2. Splice/shorten videos
3. Talk over video to help students better understand a  topic


Soundtrap

Log in using wither your granitesd.org or graniteschools.org (free trial for 30 days)
  • Integrate your account with your canvas
  • Click on settings>Apps>Search for soundtrap> Click add app
  • On Soundtrap, click on your profile icon (circle with your picture or a silhouette) and click on your Edu Admin> import users> click on Canvas 
  • In canvas paste the consumer key and the shared secret
  • In canvas create an assignment, select Soundtrap as the external tool, students can then create their music or podcast
USES: 
1. Podcast tool for speaking and listening standards  click HERE for ideas and example lesson plans
2. Have students collaborate in real time (whether they are face to face or distance)
3. Students can create music or other recordings.
